Jakub Rafalski

I’ve been suffering from spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) since I was born. In 2010, the weakening of the muscles that make up my oesophagus led to serious weight loss and blood sugar level drops. The doctors had no option but to perform gastrostomy. Ever since, I eat with my stomach 🙂
We had many misgivings about the nutrition, the procedure and the stoma care. Now we can see that it was the right choice. Thanks to the formulas administered through the gastrostomy, I’m much stronger now, the number of infections has decreased and I’m not constantly tired anymore. I can pursue my career, have better social life and travel – and the tube’s not getting in the way!
