Marcin Kępiński

My name is Marcin and I am 26 years old. My adventure with the “friendly” Crohn’s disease has started in 2000. Its first symptoms were a stomach ache, vomiting and subsequently diarrhoea. I have spent about as much time in the clinic as at home.

In 2006 there has been a breakthrough in my illness. I have arranged a surgery consultation. I have been found fit to undergo a partial large and small bowel resection. After that, I lived quite comfortably and all I had to worry about was to take the immunosuppressive drugs.

I relapsed in 2012. This time it was an anorectal abscess. I underwent a biological therapy but my “friend” was craving attention more and more.

In 2014 my clinical nutrition has started. Since then I have been fed parenterally. This unconventional way of nutrition has brought me many good things. Thanks to that, I finally have the strength to realize my passions and live to the fullest. Life with Crohn’s disease has its ups and downs but now I always have the strength and fortitude to overcome it – things I lacked so many times before.
